Mexican basketball players started the Copa América tournament with a victory in the Brazilian city of Recife on Friday, defeating the seven-time champion of the continent, the United States.
Mexico beat USA 73:67 (15:14, 21:21, 20:13, 17:19) in Group C match.
Paul Stoll, born in the USA, collected 15 points, nine assists, five rebounds, seven turnovers and four interceptions for the winners. Fabian Hymes added 13 points, achieving a double-double with ten rebounds, and Daniel Amigo.
