In Cagnes-sur-Mer, recruiters and job seekers meet… while playing badminton!

The atmosphere is good-natured, like for a school tournament, and yet, the stakes are high : the key, a potential Interim CDI or a long CDD. All with the same chasubleracket in hand and basketball on their feet, 122 people looking for jobs are mixed with 20 recruiters, in teams.

“Values, shorts and sneakers”

Large companies and temp agencies are present, incognito. Jérémy Caugan, Human Resources Manager of Ikea Nice Saint-Isidore, sees a lot of interest in this operation: “Coming to meet our candidates, outside the professional environment, with just values, shorts and sneakers, it’s great. We discover who we are as men or women before becoming future collaborators, potentially.

The recruiter confides it: he particularly opens his eye to “team spirit“, “cordiality“, “the informal talks between us: that is to say, to see what people have in their heads and in their guts”et “the reaction in failure: seeing what we all build out of it together, that’s what interests me”.

Other companies present: Lidl, Decathlon, public bodies, or Marineland. We see within a team the character, the personality: those who are more withdrawn, or those who will reach out to the customer, and that’s what interests us at Marineland“explains Cécilia Mallet, recruitment manager of the marine zoo.

Who is who ?

During the various workshops around badminton, the players all wear the same chasuble, with simply their first name in front. A few glances are lost, to try to guess who is a recruiter, or who is looking for a job.We guess easilysmiled Fella.I practically guessed who the recruiter was. There are people who are spontaneously team leaders, who say ‘you have to do this, you have to do that’…

Natural job seekers

For the unemployed, the idea is not to stand out at all costs emphasizes Sarah, looking for a job… precisely in professional integration. “In fact, we are natural. Me, I was at the bottom, I motivated my teammates… There is no filter, we are as we are. And suddenly the recruiter will see my natural state of mind. If I write on my CV that I have team spirit, and I do not show it, it is not logical“says the young woman.

Jobs dating

In the wake of these sports exercises, job seekers and employers meet for lunch, always anonymously. The masks are then lifted, during job dating of a few minutes, a little more formal.
