“I will be a Blazer all my life”

Madness or unconditional love for Portland? Rarely have we seen someone identify with his team as much as Damian Lillard with the Blazers. The base has recently passed through the microphones of the podcast The Dave Pasch where he has made it clear that he does not intend to move from there despite the uncertain future that surrounds the staff led by Chauncey Billups.

Let us remember that last year, with the exception of Jusuf Nurkic and the aforementioned Lillard, they practically dismantled their entire spine with the departures of CJ McCollum, Norman Powell and Robert Convington. In his place this summer, Jerami Grant has arrived from Detroit, in addition to the acquisition of Gary Payton II in free agency, and rookie Shaedon Sharpe (7th pick), a complete unknown after not playing a single NCAA game.

“I really think so (being a Blazer during all his life). I’ve had people around me saying, ‘Get out of there, man.’ You have to do this, you have to do that… But I’m that kind of person who’s never going to keep up with anybody,” Lillard said.

“I will always do what I think is best for me and what I really feel in my heart. I have said it many times. I’m being loyal! And naturally I am a person who has a high level of loyalty with this team, “she added.

Last July the Blazers agreed to his extension for two additional seasons, being his total commitment for the next 5 years and a total amount of 270 million.

Even though they don’t have one of the strongest rosters in the Western Conference and/or the NBA, he truly believes he has a chance to one day bring the championship ring to the Oregon franchise.

“I really think I can do it. Now everybody can tell me, ‘There’s no way the Blazers are going to win a ring. They should do this and that.’ But it’s not what I feel in this situation. I think we’re really going to have a chance to win it, I feel like that moment will come to us. That’s all,” he concluded.
