The Gijón Open, the ATP 250 tournament that will host the city from October 8 to 16, has just been presented at the headquarters of the Higher Sports Council of Madrid. “It’s going to be a great date”, affirmed those who presented the tournament; among them the mayor of Gijón, Ana González, Feliciano López, the president of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, Miguel Román, the president of the Royal Asturian Tennis Federation, Fernando Castaño and Tomás Carbonell, the director of the tournament. All those present highlighted the importance of the appointment, because of the great “national international” repercussion that it will have.

The mayor, Ana González, also extolled the qualities of Gijón as a city and encouraged everyone to go to the La Guía sports palace.

It so happens that this tournament will coincide with the 30th anniversary of this facility.
