Football World Cup: Vaccinated or not, supporters will have to present a negative Covid test to enter Qatar

Fans attending the FIFA World Cup in Qatar will be required to test negative for COVID-19, regardless of their vaccination status, organizers said in a statement on Thursday.

All visitors aged six and over will be required to present a negative PCR test, taken within 48 hours of departure, or a rapid antigen test, taken within 24 hours of arrival, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Transportation said. Legacy (SC).

The results of rapid antigen tests will however only be accepted if they come from official medical centres. Visitors aged 18 and over will also need to download a government-run mobile tracing app called Ehteraz to identify contact cases.

Mandatory mask

“A green Ehteraz status (indicating that the user is not COVID-19 positive) is required to enter any enclosed public space”the statement added.

Fans will also be required to wear a mask on public transport and self-isolate if they test positive.

Vaccination will not be mandatory, however, the statement said.
