Everything is ready for the 2022 edition of “My Prato Urban Run”
The treasure hunt to discover Prato, organized by the CGFS, is scheduled for Sunday 2 October and this year will be dedicated to the memory of Piero Sambrotta
The countdown has started for the 2022 edition of “My Prato Urban Run”. The treasure hunt to discover Prato, organized as usual by the CGFS, is scheduled for Sunday 2 October, from 9 to 16, with meeting point and departure from Piazza delle Carceri. Registrations are already open and the event, for the first time, will also be officially valid as the “Memorial Piero Sambrotta”.
More generally, however, that of 1 and 2 October will be a weekend dedicated to sport, entertainment, and knowledge of the city thanks to the initiatives organized by the Youth Center for Sports Training, in collaboration with the Municipality of Prato.
Synergy Sport Show platter
It starts on Saturday afternoon with the “Prato Sinergy Sport Show”: a show that will always be staged in Piazza Santa Maria delle Carceri, from 14 to 18, to introduce the city to future projects and programs of the CGFS, to highlight the protagonists of the sports world of Prato, the presidents and managers of the companies affiliated with the association and belonging to the Sinergy Multisport project, as well as the many athletes who practice sports of various kinds and at various levels. In detail, Volley Pvp Volleyball Prato, Asd 29 Martiri, Asd Volley Viaccia, Volley Prato, Asd Vintage Volley, Asd Volley Vernio will parade under the Castle of the Emperor Volleyball; 2000 Dragons Basketball, Prato Women’s Basketball and Montemurlo Basket for basketball; Arcobaleno Prato for gymnastics and Fencing Prato for fencing; Notapinna Prato and Azzurra Swimming for aquatic disciplines, the Fipsas delegation for sport fishing. There will also be the new entries of the Sinergy Multisport project, represented by Asd Opusdanza for dance, Arca and Asd Kyu Shin Ryu Prato for martial arts, Futsalprato for 5-a-side football.
My Prato Urban Run
Returning to the “My Prato Urban Run”, the treasure hunt formula has been confirmed, which in recent years has met with enormous success. Groups formed by a minimum of two and a maximum of five people, guided by a map, will follow a path made up of clues and enigmas that will lead them to know or rediscover particular places in the historic center of Prato.
Inscriptions
The cost of participation is 10 euros per person, including the kit with t-shirt, backpack and bottle of water, map and instructions to complete the route independently, from 8.30 to 16 on Sunday 2 October. You can register for the event online at the link: https://www.pratourbanrun.it/iscrizioni/or by going to via Roma 258, to the registration office of the CGFS (Monday and Friday from 8.15 to 13, Wednesday and Thursday from 12 to 17), or by going to the Decathlon store in Parco Prato, in via delle Pleiadi.
The participation kit can be collected in Piazza delle Carceri on Saturday 1 October, from 2pm to 6.30pm, and Sunday 2 October, from 8am to 1pm. Registrations will remain open until the morning of the initiative, the last useful date to participate.
First Memorial Piero Sambrotta
My Prato Urban Run for the first time will be valid as the first ‘Memorial Piero Sambrotta’. A tribute to the one who conceived and led the Prato Urban Run until 2020. The initiative is therefore dedicated to the memory of those who believed in this type of event, giving importance to the culture and the most accurate knowledge of our territory. “A pillar of the CGFS which unfortunately no longer exists and which left us too soon – recall from the Youth Center -. However, whose imprint will remain forever indelible “. And speaking of culture and art, the novelties of this year’s itinerary are the visits inside the Terminal cinema and the Cassero corridor. This year it has also confirmed its presence in the ‘Choose-I love Prato’ initiative with the Day of the Gift in the cloister of San Domenico, and there will also be the terminal cinema and Arci that will give the opportunity to see inside the laboratories that they do throughout the year.

There are three main sponsors who have helped the CGFS in the success of the event. These are Acqua Shop, an automatic water dispenser present in the Mezzana and San Paolo areas, Banca Mediolanum with the private banker Gessica Camilloni, and Lloyds Farmacia already present last year and which also on Sunday 2 October will be in the square with a doctor for advice to all present.
“A special thanks also goes to all the educators of the Youth Sports Training Center who have been helping out for the event for days – conclude by the CGFS -. And also at the Natural Science Center with its volunteers and at the Italian Red Cross for the success of the event ”.
