Dieumerci Mbokani is expected to sign!

Arrived in Belgium on Monday during the evening, so as to further the contacts established with two clubs, Dieumerci Mbokani was received on Tuesday in Beveren, before pushing the door of RFC Seraing the next day, also interested in coming of an experienced striker who has been free of contract since the termination of his contract at SC Kuwait. The 36-year-old Congolese striker had other options in Turkey, which he politely declined, preferring to return to a Belgian competition he knows inside out. After Anderlecht, Standard and Antwerp, it is the jersey of… Beveren that he should wear. A two-year contract awaits him at Freethiel, where he explained in detail the sports project carried by the American investment fund Bolt Football Holding led by David S. Blitzer, also owner of Crystal Palace.

Mbokani would have been happy to work again with Lucien D’Onofrio, who had become the adviser to the president of Metz Bernard Serin, who had been at the origin of his transfers to Standard and Antwerp, but also with José Jeunechamps, the coach of the RFC Seraing, who had led him to Deurne during the first half of 2021, when he served as Frankie Vercauteren’s assistant. But RFC Seraing were unable to offer Mbokani what he was hoping for financially. Barring a last-minute twist, it is therefore in the Challenger Pro League that Dieumerci Mbokani, whose signature is expected in the coming hours, will continue his career.
