837 male and female martial artists from 60 countries and five continents took part in the four-day event. Weisser opened the competitions on behalf of the world association.

Denis Weisser:

“We saw great and very attractive judo and the judo values such as friendship and respect were not neglected. The local organizing team did an excellent job. I would like to thank the Polish Judo Federation, the very good judges and everyone involved in the event, such as my club mate Teodor Pop, who was actively involved as project manager of the world judo federation. And, of course, congratulations to all the medal winners at these World Championships – anyone who finished at the top really deserves it!”
