David Goffin lost in the second opposition of the day for this first pool match of the Davis Cup 2022. Our number 1 was opposed to Alex Of Miner. The Liégeois lost in two sets 6-2 / 6-2. This defeat, together with that of Zizou Mountain in front of Jason Kubler a little earlier in the day, is not without consequences: the Belgians are certain to lose this first match against Australia. A 3-0 defeat in the end because in the last meeting of the day, the Belgian pair composed of Sander Gille et Joran Flying was beaten in straight sets 6-1/6-3 by their Australian counterparts Max Purcell et Matthew Ebden.
