Cristiano Ronaldo (37) wants to continue as an international “at least” until Euro 2024 | Foreign football

Cristiano Ronaldo, five-time winner of the Golden Ball, has 189 caps. The Portuguese captain has the record number of goals in international matches with 117. He will normally complete his tenth major tournament at the World Cup in Qatar (20 November-18 December).

“My course is not over yet,” said Ronaldo. “You will be able to continue to support me for a while. I want to be there at the next World Cup and at the European Championship in 2024. I am still very motivated and have great ambitions.”

Ronaldo returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2021. His start to the season under new coach Erik ten Hag was difficult. He seemed to be aiming for a departure several times and was regularly on the reserve bench.

Portugal is preparing for the Nations League matches on Saturday (in the Czech Republic) and Tuesday (at home against Spain). Ronaldo and co are second in group 2 of the A-division, with 7 points after 4 matches. Spain leads with 8 points.
