CONMEBOL closes with Football For The Goals, an initiative led by the UN

CONMEBOL is now part of the Football For The Goals (FFTG) initiative, led by the United Nations (UN), which uses football as a tool to promote sustainable development goals and universal human rights values.

“At Conmebol, we are convinced that football is a factor for the improvement of societies. He acts as an excellent disseminator of positive values ​​that reaches all social sectors, covering all ages, genders and beliefs. This strength and transversality also imposes a responsibility that we fully assume, committing ourselves to sustainable development and the defense of human rights. In this sense, it is a great satisfaction to join this United Nations initiative”, said Monserrat Jimenéz, Assistant Secretary General and Legal Director of CONMEBOL.

“We are very happy to have Conmebol together with the FFTG in the first weeks of launching the initiative and to note their strong commitment to sustainability, human rights and taking advantage of the great potential that football has as an agent of positive change”, he added. The entity will have access to resources, content and experiences within the UN. In addition, the South American organization will also be able to collaborate with the initiative through meetings and events with the other members of Football For The Goals.
