(Cheongju = News 1) Reporter Seongki Lee = The 28th Chungcheongbuk-do School Sports Club Competition hosted by the Chungbuk Provincial Office of Education will be held in Cheongju, Jeungpyeong, and Jincheon from the 2nd to the 24th.
This competition is an autonomous sports activity to improve the physical strength of students and cultivate good character.
3,566 elementary, middle and high school students participate as regional representatives and compete in 16 sports, including soccer, basketball, badminton, and dodgeball.
The provincial office of education awards the championship, runner-up, and third-place teams according to the results of each event, and the school superintendent who wins the championship is awarded the Superintendent of Education Award.
The winning team by event will participate as a representative of Chungbuk in the 11th National School Sports Club Competition to be held in November.
An official from the Provincial Office of Education said, “We expect that the school sports club competition will serve as an opportunity to expand the opportunities for youth to participate in sports activities and cultivate a sense of community, and furthermore, will help solve various youth problems.”
