Blockchain infrastructure firm Chain has announced a new partnership with the New England Patriots, a National Football League (NFL) team, as well as Major League Soccer club New England Revolution.

As part of the 4-year agreement, Chain will partner with Kraft Sports + Entertainment to create Web3 experiences for visitors to Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution.

Chain firm partners with NFL Patriots

Founded in 2014, Chain is a company that offers blockchain solutions. Moreover, it is one of the leaders of Web3. Note that Deepak Thapliyal, the Managing Director of Chain, officially stated:

“We are proud to partner with Kraft Sports + Entertainment to build the future of Web3 for Gillette Stadium, New England Patriots and New England Revolution. Our team looks forward to collaborating with Kraft Sports + Entertainment to create innovative experiences for stadium visitors using our expertise in blockchain technology. »

Kraft Sports + Entertainment is part of a Foxborough, Massachusetts-based consortium known as The Kraft Group. The latter brings together a number of private companies with commercial interests in professional sports and property development.

The group also manages sales, marketing, content development and event operations for Gillette Stadium and the two New England sports teams. Also, The Kraft Group bought the New England Patriots in 1994 and was one of the founders of the New England Revolution football team.

As a reminder, in November 2021, Kraft entered into an agreement with socios.com to allow New England Patriots fans to win prizes by answering game-related questions during each week of the football season.

Chain CEO buys ENS domain name patriots.eth, an NFL first

Following the announcement, Deepak Thapliyal bought the patriots.eth domain for 75 ETH, the equivalent of 100 488,86 euros at present. Ethereum Name Service (ENS) aims to become the equivalent of Domain Name Service (DNS) for the Ethereum blockchain.

It allows to link crypto addresses to different types of content and metadata in the Web3 ecosystem. That is to say that instead of the classic addresses which are composed by an incomprehensible series of characters, the ENS addresses are customizable and can be chosen by their owners. Additionally, ENS can be traded in the form of NFTs on exchanges like OpenSea.

The Chain CEO’s interest in NFTs is not something new, he is indeed an avid collector who owns NFTs from several “Blue Chip” collections like the famous Bored Ape Yacht Club. These are collections that have proven over time a good management as well as the stability of their project.
