Casper & Gambini’s roi du rest-basket

For its very first edition, the “Resto Basketball Tournament” kept all its promises this Sunday on the floor of the M13 stadium in Antélias. Organized under the aegis of the Lebanese Basketball Federation and sponsored by the real estate agency Ray White, this unprecedented tournament allowed eight teams, made up of cooks and waiters from several restaurants in Beirut and its surroundings, to s compete for the title of best restaurant-basketballers in the Cedar country.

Faced with those of Dr Kafta, Lavender, Saigon or Joe’s Bar, it was ultimately the staff of the Casper & Gambini’s franchise who had the best fork. In the final, she had her work cut out against the team from the Palms brewery, for whom the bill was inevitably salty after being rolled in flour in the last seconds.

Concluded with a narrow score of 70-67, this well-made match crowns the ten cooks who will be able to crack the champagne with their cups and their medals around their necks. Served on a plate by his teammates, Elias Abi Fadel leaves as a bonus with the title of best scorer and player of the tournament. Enough to redo the icing a bit before returning to the stove.
