Caroline Lopez makes it to the semi-finals in Plovdiv

After a day of qualifications which had however smiled on the archers of the French team, Caroline Lopez is today the only one to be able to bring back an individual medal.

In recurve women, Caroline Lopez is indeed making its way to the semis, notably winning its quarter-final against Franziska Langhammer (SUI) with the score of 6 to 0. She will meet Kirstine Andersen (DEN) on Saturday morning to hope to reach a Gold or Bronze final. “I started my matches this morning a bit slowly, with a crescendo as the day progressed. I was a little tense on my 1st match against Evangelia Psarra (GRE), which I won with a shoot-off arrow. Then I raised my level little by little and I chained good performances until I reached the semi-finals, we’ll see what happens on Saturday morning! The mixed team shooting was a bit more complicated, we did what we could but they (the Estonian team) were stronger. »

In a mixed team, the pair composed by Clement Jacquey et Caroline Lopez will not exceed the 1/8ths after a 6-2 defeat against Estonia in the first round.

Tomorrow will be devoted to team matches in recurve and compound archery.
