Both times Arozarena hit in options to push Yandy Diaz home and give the Rays an early lead (79-61). Manuel Margot singled to score Arozarena and David Peralta drove Wander Franco home with a sacrifice fly that gave the Rays a 4-0 lead.
Jeffrey Springs (8-4) blanked the Jays for six innings, striking out five batters, allowing just three hits. Shawn Armstrong and Pete Fairbanks came in relief.

Alek Manoah (14-7) was scheduled to start for the Jays (79-62), but his name was dropped from the roster due to a stomach virus.
After the first game, interim manager John Schneider reported that Manoah had recovered enough to start the second game, in the evening.
“He feels good, we expect a normal outing from him,” Schneider said. “He feels a lot better and so we’ll use him as we are used to. »
Julian Merryweather (0-3), used as an opener, was charged on the backhand. Mitch White, recalled as 29e player for that doubleheader, pitched six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.
