The “U18 Nissin Foods Top League 2022” women, which started in late August, had a total of seven games on September 3rd and 4th. For this year’s top league, the results of the previous year’s national tournaments (inter-high school, winter cup) will be converted into points, and the top eight men’s and women’s teams will be selected. Each of the eight men’s and women’s teams will play a round robin league match.

Four games were held on September 3: Osaka Kaoru Ei Jogakuin vs Myojo Gakuen, Showa Gakuin vs Kyoto Seika Gakuen, Anjo Gakuen vs Gifu Girls, and Ohka Gakuen vs Tokyo Seitoku University.

Meisei Gakuen, Showa Gakuin, and Ohka Gakuen made their first appearance in the tournament on this day. Kaoru Osaka vs Meisei Gakuen were evenly matched at the start, but Kaoru Osaka took the initiative in the second quarter with a score of 29-14, defending the lead obtained in the first half and winning with a final score of 89-73. Kaoruo Osaka led the team with 33 points, 13 out of 18 field goals, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in 38 minutes and 40 seconds.

Ohka vs Tokyo Seitoku University, Ohka dominated with a score of 64-25 at the end of the first half, and won with a final score of 104-60. For Ohka, Minoran Kikuchi recorded a double-double with 22 points and 5 rebounds, and Yui Fukatsu with 15 points and 16 rebounds. All the starting members, including these two, scored in double digits and won the game.

Top League 2022

Meisei Gakuen vs Ohka Gakuen was evenly contested from beginning to end, with Ohka winning by 6 points.

On September 4th, Gifu Girls vs Kyoto Seika Gakuen, Meisei Gakuen vs Ohka Gakuen, and Showa Gakuin vs Anjo Gakuen were played. Kyoto Seika, who won the Inter-High, showed their strength from the beginning of the day and overwhelmed the first quarter with 29-9. However, from the 2nd quarter onwards, the Gifu Women’s team also held on to Natsumi Kasano, who scored 40 points, and the game was evenly matched. Still, Kyoto Seika won with a final score of 89-77 with a large point difference in the first quarter.
