Bandırma Municipality organized a great organization that attracted the attention of all basketball lovers. Organized for the first time in Turkey with international status on 9-11 September; 3X3 Basketball Tournament was held in Bandırma Cumhuriyet Square.

Exciting, dynamic and innovative 3×3 Basketball is inspired by street basketball in different formats played all over the world. 3X3 Basketball, which has been the official organization of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) since 2010 and has found its place in international sports events, was brought to life in our country by the Turkish Basketball Federation in 2013. 3X3 Basketball has become one of the most widespread team sports in the world, attracting large audiences, with its incredible excitement and colorful shows reflected on the field during the matches played. Every year, thousands of basketball lovers attend the 3X3 Basketball Turkey Tour, which is held in many parts of our country. Moreover, you do not need to be a licensed basketball player to participate in tournaments! Anyone who loves basketball and wants to prove himself can participate in the tournaments.

Even though it is a special tournament, the 3X3 Basketball Tournament, organized by Bandırma Municipality, was held for the first time in Turkey in an international sense. In the World Basketball Championship, hosted by our country in 2010, Sinan Güler, who was in the squad of our legendary National Team 12 Giant Men, ranked 2nd in the world with the silver medal, played with the Güler Legacy team and competed in the tournament in Bandırma, where sports lovers of all ages participated in the tournament. showed interest.

On September 9, Mayor Atty. On the first and second days of the Bandırma 3X3 International Basketball Tournament, which started with Tolga Tosun’s 3-pointer, the athletes from Bandırma and its immediate surroundings; Group matches of 24 teams in the Stars, Juniors and Seniors categories were held. The high fight in the group final matches played on Sunday, September 11, the last day of the tournament, received great applause. At the end of the final matches; Bandırma Gelişim became the champion of the Stars category, Dereboyu Spor became the champion of the Youth category, Kale17 Mado became the champion of the Seniors category. Apart from trophies and medals, Stars’ champion Bandırma Gelişim won 1,000 TL, Junior’s champion Dereboyu Spor 2,000 TL, and Seniors’ champion Kale17 Mado 4,000 TL.

The real excitement started with the qualifying matches on Saturday, September 10, the second day of the tournament. At the end of the qualifying matches, four Turkish teams; Former Basketballers, Çiçek qualified to the Euro 3X3 and Inferno finals. The four Turkish teams that scored the highest points in the 3X3 Basketball matches played in Turkey under the management of TBF and were also included in the FIBA ​​official ranking; Apart from Alsancak Premium, Güler Legacy, Manisa Premium GYM and Egesit İnşaat teams; Azerbaijan 3X3 Basketball National Team ALO Basket U23, another Azeri team Pro Basket Baku and two German teams Team KÖLN and Team DITS Germany, Bandırma International 3X3 Basketball Tournament final matches were held on Sunday, 11 September. In addition to the high-level performances of the athletes in the final matches, which witnessed great excitement from start to finish, the intense interest of basketball lovers from all ages, who followed the tournament from the first day to the last final match, increasing the excitement of the tournament with their enthusiastic cheers, was also worth seeing. The people of Bandırma, who followed the tournament from the stands and Cumhuriyet Square with great pleasure, showed their appreciation for the dance performances, animations, award-winning competitions and entertaining interviews between the matches with long applause.

Points earned in the matches played enter the official FIBA ​​ranking. Bandırma International 3X3 Basketball Tournamentat the end of:

Apart from trophies and medals, cash prizes were also given to the winning teams. Champion Güler Legacy won 20.000 TL, 2nd place former basketball players 14.000 TL, 3rd place Alsancak Premium 8.000 TL and 4th place Inferno 4.000 TL.

Mayor Tolga Tosun, who presented the cups and awards to the teams that ranked in the International 3X3 Basketball Tournament organized by Bandırma Municipality, in his speech after the ceremony: We wanted to organize it in our city. Since it is the 100th anniversary of the liberation of our Bandırma from the enemy occupation, we decided to raise our target a little bit and decide that the tournament will be in the international category. As Bandırma Municipality, to all our athletes who participated in the 3X3 Basketball Tournament, which we held for the first time in Turkey in the international category and in our Bandırma Republic Square, especially our guest athletes who came from Can Azerbaijan and Germany, which we have historical and cultural ties with, and who won the hearts of all of us with their struggles and sportsmanship, I would like to thank our TBF referees who managed the matches in a very fair manner, our great team who ensured the complete and smooth running of the tournament, and of course, my dear fellow countrymen and basketball fans from Bandırma, who showed great interest in the Bandırma International 3X3 Basketball Tournament we organized.
