A total of 1,655 entries were received for this contest, including 407 handwritten essays and 1248 N-line poems. The handwriting section was divided into children, youth, and general sections. The final award winners were decided by a judging committee composed of experts based on the internal judging criteria such as subject suitability, on-the-spotness, and originality.
In the general section of the handwriting section, ‘Mother’s Spring Day with Line Dance’ (Seo Hyun-jung) was selected as the grand prize. The grand prize winner will receive a prize of 1.5 million won along with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award.
At the Sports President’s Award, 2 grand prize winners (500,000 won), 3 excellent prizes (300,000 won), and 10 encouragement prizes (100,000 won) were each selected. In the children’s and youth department, the ‘Magic Gate Opened by Badminton’ (Choi Seo-yeon) will be selected as the grand prize and a gift certificate worth 300,000 won will be given.
In addition, 1 first prize, one excellent prize, and one encouragement prize will be given different gift certificates according to their ranking.
The first N line poetry category, newly created in this contest, will be awarded the Sports President’s Award, ‘My lively mother is badminton, my active and cheerful father is table tennis, I enjoy all sports because I have good physical strength, and my family is physically and mentally healthy’.
