At what age did Nadal win his first Grand Slam and how old is Alcaraz?

Everyone will remember this date, June 5, 2005, where a 19-year-old Spanish boy would win his first Grand Slam. Rafael Nadal (June 3, 1986) would take his first Grand Slam of the 22 he currently has at 36 years old and the first of the Roland Garros that the Spanish tennis player has. Novak Djokovic follows with 21 and Roger Federer with 20 Grand Slams.

In that match, Nadal, at the age of 19, would face Mariano Puerta, an Argentine tennis player, who would give him a bit of a fight. In the first set the Spaniard lost it 6-7 against Mariano and would have to come back, and that is what he did. Nadal did not fall apart and won by quite a difference, 6-3 and 6-2, the second and third sets, being one away from taking his first Grand Slam. The youngster could not handle the pressure and knew how to remain calm to win the last set 7-5 and take the French trophy for the first time.

This Sunday, Carlos Alcaraz (May 5, 2003) has matched Rafa Nadal. The Murcian, also 19 years old, although with more months and days, has achieved his first Grand Slam and, in addition, to be the new youngest world number one in history.
