Assault on Kheira Hamraoui: Aminata Diallo released under judicial supervision

This is a new twist in the tortuous Hamraoui-Diallo affair. Five days after being indicted for “aggravated violence”, “criminal association” and imprisoned, Aminata Diallo, former PSG midfielder, was released by the judge of freedoms and detention during a deferred debate which took place this Wednesday at the judicial court of Versailles (Yvelines). She was placed under judicial control with multiple obligations including the prohibition to leave the national territory and to come into contact with the victim, the other indicted, her teammates and the staff of the club. Asked, his lawyer, Me Mourad Battikh, did not wish to speak before the holding of a press conference this Thursday morning. This Wednesday evening the prosecution announced an appeal.

After eleven months of investigations, investigators from the Versailles PJ and the investigating judge had become convinced that the young 27-year-old footballer had ordered the attack with an iron bar on her ex-teammate Kheira Hamraoui on November 4, 2021, in Chatou (Yvelines), against a backdrop of sporting rivalry and thwarted ambition. In police custody, young people from Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (Val-de-Marne), suspected of having set the violent ambush, confessed to having received the mission, against financial compensation, to hit Kheira Hamraoui in the legs to prevent him from playing his next matches. A retaliatory contract which would have transited via an intermediary, unidentified to date, acting himself on behalf of Aminata Diallo so that it is established in place of the victim.

Aminata Diallo once again proclaimed her innocence

The statements and behavior of Aminata Diallo, who was driving the car bringing back her teammates from a club evening, also strongly questioned the police, as well as messages exchanged with a sports intermediary close to PSG players suggesting that she felt a hatred towards Kheira Hamraoui. “Aminata Diallo (…) had developed in a few days a veritable ambush in order to attack the physical integrity of Kheira Hamraoui with the obvious aim of taking her place both in the Parisian workforce but also within of the national selection”, estimated the investigators in a report.

But the release of Aminata Diallo today comes to reshuffle the cards of the investigation. During her police custody and her first appearance interrogation on September 16, Aminata Diallo once again claimed her innocence and denied any responsibility in the attack on her ex-teammate. She said she was the victim of an agreement between the other indicted to incriminate her to protect the real mastermind from the attack. No physical or telephone contact has been demonstrated at this stage between the Villeneuve-Saint-Georges suspects and the footballer. An absence of link brandished by the defense to demand – and obtain – his release.
