No European boost for Anderlecht. Just like the Romanian FCSB, the Purple & White did not score in a particularly poor match. FCSB had the best chances and both teams escaped a penalty kick. With 4 out of 6 Anderlecht remains firmly second in its group.
FCSB – Anderlecht in a nutshell:
- Man of the match: If no one plays to it, the star role goes to a goalkeeper. Both Tornavanu and Van Crombrugge made a claim, because both made good saves and kept the 0. Although Van Crombrugge had more work, so the RSCA goalkeeper has the benefit of the doubt.
- Remarkable: Both teams should have been awarded a penalty, but Gishamer, the Austrian referee, misjudged the situations – and not just in these two phases. Van Crombrugge flashed his attacker down after a blunder and Esposito was clearly run over.
- Striking (2): Both teams should have scored. In the first half Fabio Silva gave in too weakly without confidence, in the second half Cordea did not punish a counterattack.

In a sweltering national stadium in Bucharest – both in terms of atmosphere and weather – Anderlecht went in search of rehabilitation. Almost a death blow and again no penalty
Anderlecht restored the balance in the second half, but they had to wait for opportunities until Arnstad tried to break the game from afar with a shot from afar. His shot was not well aimed, and Rafa’s rebound was equally unsuccessful.
