Against Valledupar, once again, Real Cartagena was unable to win

History repeats itself: Real Cartagena let a win they had in their hands slip away, in the final minutes and due to the passivity of their defenses. The Heroicos won until the 42nd minute of the second half, with a great goal from a free kick by Léider Robledo, but Roger Murillo took advantage of the lethargy of the Cartagena defenders, and at the gate of the goal he put the final 1-1.

It was the duel of coleros in the capital of Cesar: the worst teams in the championship faced each other. Against a rival that did little for the game, Real Cartagena had the ball, and the greatest number of approaches, but as has been customary in the semester, without being effective. Only through a free kick by Robledo, which he paid in a sensational way, could they break the zero. However, again due to inattention, the team from Cartagena was left without the victory.

Óscar Passo sent Cristian Arroyave to the field on the portico; Luis Felipe Becerra as right back, Miguel Pajaro, Daniel Pedrozo as captain, and Juan Camilo Moreno; Carlos Franco, Juan Diego Nieva, Edwin López as a winger, Sebastián Girado, Léider Robledo, and Deyner Padilla as the only striker.

The vallenatos, in turn, stopped Omar Rodríguez; Joan Cajares, Kevin Rivas, the former Real Cartagena Jeferson Díaz, the Bolivarian Denilson Guerra; Brayan Sánchez, Jhon Gutiérrez, Kevin Arboleda, Jhonier Valencia; Dairon Valencia and Misael Martinez.

In minute two, Real Cartagena had its first approach, with a ball that Deyner Padilla stole in three quarters of the field, and transported to finish off from the right to the goal, with little power, saving goalkeeper Rodríguez.

In seven minutes, Miguel Pajaro cut off a promising Valledupar attack with a violent tackle near the area, receiving the yellow card from referee Héctor Rivera de Nariño.

At fifteen, a poor recovery by Miguel Pajaro would set off a warning bell for Los Heroicos, when Dairon Valencia entered alone from the left wing, and finished off beating Cristian Arroyave, but the linesman raised the flag indicating out of place.

Léider Robledo had a clear opportunity at his feet two minutes later, on a ball that Nieva stole in three quarters, and opened for the player from La Candelaria who ran down the left, taking a shot from medium distance that goalkeeper Rodríguez controlled in two stages. . Again at minute 19, in an action between Nieva and Robledo, the latter crosses the ball to the right, and Deyner Padilla appears at the far post, shooting wide.

At 25, Juan Diego Nieva received a yellow card for a foul in attack. In minute 32, Real Cartagena approached again, with a quick counterattack from the left in which Robledo crossed the ball to Deyner Padilla from the right, who finished off with power, but once again the Vallenato goalkeeper saved his goal. Until then, the auriverde team was more, in options, in control of the ball, and with a Léider Robledo who organized the attack.

In the 34th Becerra tried from the right, the Vallenato defense left a rebound, and Carlos Franco shot over. Four minutes later, Misael Martínez left Nieva and Pedrozo on the road, and entered the auriverde area, but he ran out of shooting angle when finishing off. A minute later, Valencia received alone in the area, and when he was about to shoot Arroyave, the line scored offside again.

In the epilogue of the first half, once again Léider Robledo transported a ball and assisted Sebastián Girado, who shot from outside the area, and the ball went over the vallenato goal. In the last of the first half, once again Robledo insisted at ground level from outside the area, and the ball went close.

For the second half, coach Passo brought on midfielders Jesús Espinosa Pacheco and Duván Mina, replacing Luis Felipe Becerra and Carlos Franco, perhaps seeking a little more depth in the last quarter of the field.

The first auriverde goal would come in the sixth minute, at the feet of -who if not him- Léider Robledo, the one who had done the most for the heroic attack. They knocked down Edwin López outside the area, and the midfielder from the La Candelaria neighborhood hit him with his right leg, about thirty meters from Rodríguez’s goal, hanging him in the left corner to open the account. Great goal! Robledo’s seventh goal of the year, the fifth in the second half, and the second in a row.

Vallenata’s response would come a couple of minutes later, with a play from the right in which the Cartagena defense fell asleep, and Martínez was able to finish at will almost at the penalty spot, fortunately for Real, deflected to the post of the left hand of Creek. However, the following minutes were about control and possession of the ball by Passo’s eleventh, while Valledupar waited in his field.

Averaging the 16th minute, Passo sent Daniel Mera and Rafael Santos Mercado onto the field, replacing Miguel Pajaro and Deyner Padilla. Valledupar was very close to equalizing in minute 18, when Edwin López took a free kick backwards, and gave the ball away, a play that the Cesarense team forward defined with a low shot, saving goalkeeper Arroyave. It was the clearest of the Cesarenses.

In minute 21, Sebastián Girado, who had suffered in a previous play, fell alone on the field of play, and had to be replaced by Jairo Fuentes. At minute 25, Robledo leaned on Espinosa Pacheco, who played with Fuentes and received another shot, taking a shot that went to the goalkeeper’s left post.

Real got closer to the 32nd, with a crossed ball from Juan Diego Nieva, from left to right, that Duván Mina received in the area, crashing his shot into the goalkeeper’s legs. Valledupar tried to shake himself off, but he was not capable of passing the middle of the field, and the Cartagena team kept the ball. Robledo tried again with a shot from the left at 34, which came out with little power.

Without doing much for the match, Valledupar equalized in the 41st minute, after a corner kick resulting from one of his few approaches. In the collection, the Cartagena defense allowed Kevin Rivas to be received in the right area, who put in a finder that Roger Andretty, who had entered the second, only had to caress at the door of the goal, given the passivity of the Auriverde defenders, that let the long-awaited triumph escape between their hands.

Valledupar was emboldened, and had the winning goal in the 44th minute, after a cross shot from the left by Roger Andretty, again in the face of the passivity of the Cartagena defense, which crashed by centimeters into the post of Arroyave’s left hand.

A minute later, Espinosa crossed a ball from left to right that Jairo Fuentes controlled in the area, hooking a defender and taking a placed shot that Rodríguez sent to the corner kick. On the subsequent play, López crossed and Mercado headed wide for Real Cartagena. The vallenatos would insist until the end, but with little aim.

With this result, Real Cartagena is now penultimate with six points, but by one goal it beats Orsomarso, who is last with the same number of units but with -9 (Real has -8). Those led by Óscar Passo reached seven games without winning, and have only one win in their last twelve outings. His next game will be on Tuesday the 6th, against Tigres, at four in the afternoon at Jaime Morón.
