Asian Football Confederation (AFC) gave congratulations to Indonesia U-20 National Team who stepped into the finals of the U-20 Asian Cup 2023.
The Indonesian U-20 national team qualified after beating Vietnam 3-2 in the last match of Group F at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya, Sunday (18/9). The additional three points made Marselino Ferdinand and his friends qualify as group winners after sweeping three wins.
“Congratulations, Young Garuda!” wrote the AFC on their Instagram account accompanied by a picture of the Indonesian flag.
The congratulations given by the AFC received a response from Instagram users in the country. The majority of netizens appreciated the congratulations given by the AFC to the team that was created by Shin Tae Yong.
In addition, there were also those who satirized Vietnam, which was defeated by the Indonesian U-20 national team in the final match of Group F.
The Indonesian U-20 national team itself had to go through a difficult match before making sure to qualify for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup.

The U-20 Indonesian national team was able to take the lead 1-0 thanks to Marselino Ferdinand’s rocket kick goal in the 60th minute. But Vietnam could equalize at 1-1 thanks to Muhammad Ferarri’s own goal just six minutes later.
The team managed by Din The Nam even turned 2-1 up after Din Xuan Tien broke into Aditya Arya Nugraha’s goal. The Indonesian U-20 national team did not give up until they finally ended the match with a win thanks to goals from Ferarri (82′) and Rabbani Tasnim (85′).
