The activist against climate change protested against private planes
The second match of the Laver Cup, in which the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas has beaten the Argentine Diego Schwartzman this Friday, has been briefly interrupted after the irruption on the field of an activist who has set fire to his arm as a protest against the planes private.
Tsitsipas had just won the first set 6-2 and the players were on their team benches when a young man, wearing a shirt that read ‘Put an end to private jets in the UK’, approached the net. She sat in the middle of the arena and lit a flammable substance on his arm, but the flames were quickly put out and the young man was evacuated by tournament security.
The referees then verified that the court, where the fire was also set, was in good condition. The match was able to continue and Tsitsipas won the second set 6-2 to give Europe a 2-0 lead over the rest of the world team. This match marked the end of the afternoon session at the O2 Arena in London.
