[미디어투데이=지원배기자] The Sejong Special Self-Governing City Office of Education will host the 2022 Sejong Special Self-Governing City Supervisor’s School Sports Club Tournament to restore the students’ health and physical strength and to restore a vibrant school life.

Starting with the elementary school softball baseball tournament on September 17th, 13 sports will be held in Sejong-si for about three months until November.

Following the league (70 schools, 377 teams, 3,823 players) competition held in the first semester, 73 schools, 435 teams, and 4,519 students will participate in the tournament.

It is expected that it will be a healthy and happy time when the bodies and minds of the students who have shrunk due to COVID-19 will once again be stretched.

The Sejong City Office of Education plans to conduct the competition while thoroughly observing the quarantine rules, such as checking the health of the participating students and wearing masks.

Superintendent Choi Gyo-jin said, “Even under difficult circumstances due to COVID-19, our school district has made efforts to minimize educational deficits through face-to-face attendance.”

“We will do our best to ensure that various school sports activities that reflect the interest and demand of students are normalized as soon as possible and are operated in a substantial way to promote youth health and physical strength,” he said.
