WTA Toronto: Iga Swiatek surprisingly fails at Haddad Maia – Brazilian writes Masters history

The 21-year-old Pole, who has already won six titles this year, cited the wind as one of the reasons for her inconsistent performance.

Haddad Maia “simply used the conditions better than I did. When she played with the wind, she played really strong balls,” said Swiatek, who ended up making 28 unforced errors: “I made more mistakes than she did. She was a little more solid.”
