Wow! Newcastle United Agree to Transfer Alexander Isak, Becomes Club’s Most Expensive Player

Sociedad are believed to feel the Magpies’ lavish offer for the Sweden international striker is too good to pass up.

Newcastle United have reportedly reached an agreement to sign striker Alexander Isak from Real Sociedad this summer for a fantastic fee.

The Premier League club are indeed looking for a quality striker to add to their squad and have decided to break the club transfer record in order to bring in the Sweden international.

How much is Newcastle’s bid for Isak?

spanish media, The Basque Journal was the first to report the news and said Sociedad had moved to find a replacement for the 22-year-old.

Temporary ESPN reports that the Magpies have made an initial offer of €70 million not including an additional €5 million.

Later, in the agreement, Sociedad will get 10 percent of the profits from the sale of Isak in the future. The La Liga club have always been aware of potential interest in the striker and increased the release clause in his contract to €90m at the end of 2021.

Isak’s record at Sociedad

Isak joined Sociedad in the summer of 2019 from Borussia Dortmund for €10 million and, after spending four years at the club, he was able to leave with a record-breaking club sale.

The previous record was held by defender Inigo Martinez, who joined La Lig rivals Athletic Bilbao for €32 million in 2018.

Sociedad are believed to have agreed to an offer lower than the player’s release clause because they felt Newcastle’s proposal was too good to turn down, and it was also based on the player’s performance last season, when he scored just six goals in 32 league appearances.

However, Isak has been an important part of Sociedad’s forward line over the last few seasons with 44 goals in 132 games.
