“I already have it”, assured the Minister of Sports, María Isabel Urrutia, about the official sponsor for the women’s soccer league, which will be played in 2023 and is intended to be continuous and complete, like the men’s, as detailed; it is only expected that President Gustavo Petro authorize it because it is “an international issue”.
However, he said it is important review in depth the number of registered teamsbecause with those that are currently there is not enough to cover the tournament, but, he clarified, there is already an international sponsor that will be announced next weekwhich is immersed in the world of sports and is “mixed”.

“We already found him (the sponsor). It has been a particular task, since the president put me at the junction and the problem arose; You have to talk to Dimayor and teams (…) As a ministry, it is to promote, ”he pointed out in Mañanas Blu.
In addition, Minister Urrutia revealed that the sponsorship will be for “four or five years”which is a bet of great importance for women’s football and its long-term continuity: “Now, we have to promote it”.
Number of players, a problem to solve
In order to develop a complete league, the minister pointed out that it is vital to promote sport in all departmentss, well, all over the country”there are only about 350 women who play soccer” and if “they are distributed” in the national teams, it would not be enough, because many who play professionally are in international clubs and others are concentrated in the Valley and Antioquia.
