“I think the biggest rival for George and Lewis was the car, not the team-mate or the other drivers,” Wolff told the Italian version of Motorsport.com.
“And that was certainly advantageous in some ways. They used different solutions and settings, in some cases even a lot, in order to exchange impressions and useful information to get out of the situation we experienced.”
“When the races and the championship are the goal, I will be able to tell you if the respect I see between them today will prove to be the overriding factor. When you’re playing for the highest goals, I think it’s natural for there to be some tension between people, but if people fundamentally respect and value each other, then it never goes too far.”
