Designed by the architect Olivier Lahalle, the urban plan is above all concerned with redesigning the town’s roads, around islets, and redefining the public spaces by freeing up the surroundings of the château. Its old ditches were indeed occupied before the war by a construction front while the building housed a hospice and the Barbey-d’Aurevilly museum. Beyond the restoration of repairable buildings, Reconstruction first focused on private housing and businesses. The visit will begin at 5 p.m., meet in the courtyard of the castle.
