What is the best available free agent for the Lakers?

The 2022-23 NBA season is a few months away from starting and the Los Angeles Lakers continue to look for alternatives to reinforce their squad, which currently lacks depth in offensive terms.

One of the priorities in the market for the Californians should be to add scorers who can provide support from the second unit, a role that Carmelo Anthony had been occupying, but everything seems to indicate that the organization does not intend to bring him back. Among the players available in free agency, a name that seems ideal for this task is Ben McLemore.

This 29-year-old player comes from playing last season with the Portland Trail Blazers, registering 10.2 points in 20 minutes per game, having played a total of 64 games with the organization. His 36% shooting from behind the 3-point line is just what the Lakers need, who currently lack reliable shooters to come off the bench.

McLemore currently has no active contract and would be happy to take minimum wage, so he sounds ideal for management. He already had a short tour with the organization in the 2020-21 season, playing 21 games off the bench.
