Vanessa Bryant will donate the $16 million won in lawsuit to the Mamba & Mambacita Foundation

On August 24, during Kobe Bryant Day, the judgment for invasion of privacy between Vanessa Bryant, widow of Kobe Bryant, v. Los Angeles CountyCalifornia, after charging some officers for taking and sharing photos of her late husband and daughter.

For a couple of weeks, Vanessa and her co-plaintiff Chris Chester, whose wife and daughter were also killed in the crash, had to hear details about the tragic crash, as well as the subsequent investigation into whether officers inappropriately shared the footage.

In accordance with TMZ, the plaintiff requested, altogether, $75 million dollars. However, after deliberations, The jury awarded $16 million to Vanessa Bryant and $15 million to Chester, who lost his wife Sarah and 13-year-old daughter Payton in the tragic accident.

Vanessa Bryant will donate her $16 million settlement to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation

In accordance with Vanity Fair, Vanessa Bryant will donate the $16 million settlement she received as part of her lawsuit by the photographs of Kobe Bryant’s fatal helicopter crash to the foundation that he directs in honor of the athlete and his late daughter, Gianna.

The nonprofit organization, founded in memory of Kobe and Gianna, is dedicated to support disadvantaged athletes and encourage young people to get involved in athletics.

Bryant received $6 million to be paid by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and $10 million by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.after he sued them both for emotional distress and invasion of privacy caused by taking and sharing photos of the crash victims.
