Uganda women have thrashed Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 in the current round of 44In the tenth Chess Olympiad in India during the sixth round on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
WCM Shakira Empire (1666) beat La Fleur Zara (1513) 1-0.
WFM’s Gloria Nansubuga (1538) beat WCM’s James Shemil, Patricia Kavuma (1653) saw off Selina Angelina Muhammad (1100) and Martin Keila (1138) lost 1-0 to Mili Takali (1482).
Meanwhile, the men’s national team lost 0-4 to Latvia in the sixth round.
FM Harold Wanyama lost to Grandmaster Tom Kantan.
M Ritvars Remanes defeated Walter Oka, FM Maksims Golubovskis defeated Haruna Nsuboga and Emanuels Iegsa lost 0-1 to Edgar Ongor.
Uganda opened the Open category with a 4-0 win over Equatorial Guinea, lost to Canada 0-4 in the second round, beat Sao Tome and Principe 4-0 in the third round, lost to Portugal 3.5-1.5 and beat Oman 3-1 . In the fifth round before the last slip to Latvia (0-4).
Women:
During the opening round, Uganda lost 0-4 to Cuba in the women’s division.
Uganda women bounced back to beat Eswatini 4-0, fell bravely
For Malaysia (2.5 to 1.5) she beat Cyprus 2.5 to 1.5 in the fourth floor
Algeria defeated Uganda 4-0 in the fifth round and Uganda defeated Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 in the sixth round.

During the seventh round, Uganda will play Somalia, a country located in the Horn of Africa, on August 5, 2022.
During the seventh round, Uganda women will face Albania.
A total of 11 rounds will be played.
44 for startersIn the tenth 350 teams from 187 countries participated in the Chess Olympiad in Chennai, India.
The Open Division is topped by the United States (USA).
India is the group leader in the women’s division.
Interestingly, China is the title holder in both divisions.
Initially, this event was supposed to take place in Khanty-Mansiysk, where the 2010 Chess Olympiad was held, as well as the 2019 Chess World Cup, but later FIDE decided to move it to Moscow.
In February 2022, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, FIDE decided to move the event from Moscow.
Khanty-Mansiysk was scheduled to host the opening ceremony and the inaugural Paralympic Chess Games, specifically for people with disabilities, who had previously been able to participate in teams representing the blind, deaf and physically disabled.
Uganda also has an IA, FM Stephen Kisuze Semango, who has been selected by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) as a sector judge.
Kisuze is one of the best and most respected chess referees in the world and on the African continent, and has chaired the World Chess Olympiad several times.
