Top 14: serious injury for Racing 92 rookie Regan Grace

This is a tile that the Altosequan club would have done well without. The Welsh treiziste Regan Grace, who is due to join Racing 92 in the Top 14 at the end of the rugby league season in October, is indeed suffering from a ruptured Achilles tendon, announced Wednesday his current English club St Helens. “He will be operated on in the next few days,” his coach, Kristian Woolf, said in a statement. “It’s a really sad way to see him end (at St Helens).”

Recruited by Racing 92 to compensate for the departure to La Rochelle of international winger Teddy Thomas, Grace, 25, should not be able to play again by the end of the year. Former Ospreys player, multiple Super League winner, Welshman leaves St. Helens after 6 seasons during which he will have made 124 appearances and scored 72 tries.

The other recruit from the Hauts-de-Seine club as a winger, the Fijian Wame Naituvi, will not arrive until July 2023 after a final season with his club Mont-de-Marsan, in Pro D2.
