This is how the Copa Argentina table was left: when could the Superclásico between Boca and River take place

Boca Juniors advanced to the next phase of the Copa Argentina and it stays alive on two fronts. After their victory against Agropecuario de Carlos Casares in Salta, they became the second team classified to the quarterfinals of the competition (taking into account that yesterday Board of Paraná had eliminated Gimnasia La Plata in Resistencia). He will now wait for a rival in the next round, while he looks out of the corner of his eye at the complete picture and the chance to face another Superclásico.

Although there are still no confirmed venues, dates or times, six matches remain to be played corresponding to the round of 16 of the national cup. Of the winner of the series that will face Quilmes and Deportivo Madryn Boca’s opponent will come out, who will once again be the favorite against a team from the promotion as in the previous rounds (he has already left Central Córdoba de Rosario, Ferro Carril Oeste and Agropecuario on the way).

Meanwhile, the Board of Trustees waits in the quarters for River or Defense and Justice, duel that would be confirmed for the last week of August. If he Millionaire prevails over the Hawk of Florencio Varela, will have to dispatch the people from Entre Ríos to reach the semifinals, an instance in which he could face the Xeneize in a Superclásico that had as its last precedent the last edition (those from Ribera beat those from Núñez in the round of 16, by penalty shootout). If carried out, the Boca-River would be played between the end of September and the beginning of October.

On the other side of the painting there are also interesting crosses. Banfield will be put to the test with a team from the First National as Jujuy Gymnasticsat the same time that Godoy Cruz will be seen with Belgrano of Cordoba, which is the leader of its category and comes from giving the hit against Estudiantes de La Plata in the round of 16. Two other encounters with many condiments will have space in the coming weeks: Vélez-Independiente and Talleres de Córdoba-Newell’s.
