The strength of tradition is different, even if it is different.

The Samsung Life Badminton Team’s women’s team became the first champion of the DB Group Korea League in March of this year, followed by the association’s long-term tournament in July and the category championship in August, thereby cementing their position as the strongest in Korea.

In the final of the women’s general team event at the category championship held in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, they defeated Jeonbuk Bank 3-0 and regained the supremacy in two years. In the women’s singles world rankings, 3rd placed Ahn Se-young and 19th placed Kim Ga-eun, along with Lee Yu-rim and Kim Hye-jeong, are a number of national level players. Although they have a lot of physical burden due to their international competitions, Lee Yeon-woo and Kim Yoo-jeong in doubles and Kim Na-young, the chief of staff, are playing an active role in the right place and taking the lead in the glory of the team.

A pleasant ‘family fight’ between Ahn Se-young and Kim Ga-eun is foretold in the women’s singles final of this tournament on the 11th. Lee Yu-rim and Kim Hye-jeong of doubles will play the final against Kim So-young and Chae Yoo-jeong (Incheon International Airport), so it is possible to achieve the overall title.

In a phone call with Sports Donga on the 10th, Samsung Life coach Gil Young-ah said, “I am grateful to the players for winning all the competitions I participated in this year.” said.

Director Gil, who won gold, silver and bronze medals in both the Olympic and Asian Games during his active service, joined Samsung Electro-Mechanics (now Samsung Life Insurance) as a founding member in 1996. She began her coaching career in 2006 and she established her position in the club’s history when she took over as the first female manager of the corporate club in 2011.

Regarding the special relationship with Samsung Life, coach Gil said, “We are a team we are grateful for with many wins and good memories over the past 30 years. There has been a lot,” he explained. Regarding the good results of this tournament, he said, “Thank you to Na-young (Kim), the best, and Jeong-yi (Kim) in their first year of high school, doing their best in their respective positions. “I want to go back to winning all the gold medals in this tournament.”
