The world junior swimming championship starts in Peru with two Latvian representatives – Swimming – Sportacentrs.com

The swimmers of the Latvian national team together with the coach Mauro Borga (Italy) went to Latin America already on August 20, where they held an acclimatization camp near the home of the championship, but yesterday they arrived at the official hotel of the championship.

Our athletes will compete in a total of 10 individual disciplines. Kristaps Miķelsons from Valmieri will step onto the starting blocks of the competition in 50m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke, 100m and 200m backstroke, as well as 200m and 400m in the complex. Meanwhile, Ronen Kermans is scheduled to start in 100m breaststroke, 100m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 200m individual medley.

According to the organizers of the championship, more than 500 athletes from almost 90 countries have arrived in Lima, including the world’s best swimmers.
