As sources in the International Association of Football Federations (FIFA) revealed to the news agency AFP, the first match of the main football tournament in Qatar will be played on November 20, instead of the previously planned 21st.

It is reported that FIFA and the organizers of the 2022 World Cup have already agreed on the postponement of the match.

According to the immediately announced game schedule, the first match on November 21 at 1:00 p.m. should be played by the national teams of Senegal and the Netherlands, while in the evening, the home team Qatar and the Ecuadorian footballers would go to the field for the opening match.

A total of four matches are scheduled on the first day of the competition, with England and Iran also playing, the USA against Wales and the hosts against Ecuador, which is recorded as the third match in the regulations.

FIFA is ready to allow the home team to play the first match day sooner and it is announced that the match at “Al Bayt” stadium will be moved to November 20 and will start at 19.00 local time.

The last time the hosts played the first match of the World Cup was in 2006, when the German national team met Costa Rica at home.

As you know, due to the hot weather, the tournament has been moved from the usual summer period to winter and will take place from November 21 to December 18.

In 2022, the last World Cup final tournament will be held in Qatar, in which 32 teams will participate. 48 national teams will participate in the 2026 tournament, which will be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the USA.
