the WindFestival is back, from 29 September to 2 October

Having passed the mark of the first ten years, the WindFestival with fun always in the foreground and a diversified program that will offer athletes and the public the opportunity to compete in many sporting activities. From 29 September to 2 October the stage of this unmissable end-of-season event will once again be the municipality of Diano Marina, which for the third consecutive year boasts both the Lilac Flag, a project that rewards and supports municipalities that show special attention to hospitality for the disabled, and the Blue Flag, a recognition assigned by the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) to tourist resorts bathing establishments that respect the sustainable management of the territory. Organized by Valter Scotto e Andrea Ippolito from TF7 Open Sport A.S.D. the largest expo in Italy dedicated to sea and wind action sports reaches its eleventh edition, articulated on five major thematic areas ranging from sea and wind sports to land sports.

This year the WindFestival will give even more space to adaptive disciplines and within the paralympic area the athletes, including prosthetic ones, will be able to experiment with different sports such as windsurfing, water polo, archery, basketball and martial arts in collaboration with the CIP (Italian Paralympic Committee) Liguria. The participation of Granda Waterpolo Ability, which will bring its floating water polo field to sea, is worth noting. The great sporting event will also see the conclusion of the Windsurf Adaptive Challenge, the first Italian championship in windsurfing stages open to all types of disabilities. Organized and wanted by the patron of the WindFestival Valter Scotto and, among others, also by the blind windsurfer Enrico Sulli “The Fast Blind Rider”, the championship, with the patronage of FIV and CONI, saw blind and amputee athletes compete in the three stages that took place in San Vincenzo (Livorno), Lake Vico (Viterbo) and Porto Corsini (Ravenna).

The WindFestival is sponsored by the Liguria Region, by the Municipality of Diano Marina Department of Sport and Municipal Management Spa, CONI, FIV (Italian Sailing Federation) and benefits from the support of Federalberghi, CSEN (National Educational Sports Center) while assistance at sea will be edited by the Coast Guard.
