The summer island is coming to an end

A few days before the end of summer, the summer island is still present at the Parc des Templiers in Epinay-sur-Orge until Wednesday, August 31. Between cultural and sporting events, this gathering appeals to young and old.

The end of summer is fast approaching. The scent of back-to-school is gradually gaining ground. To end the last days of August in style, the summer island is still present at the Parc des Templiers in Epinay-sur-Orge (Essonne) until Wednesday August 31. Started on July 2, this gathering combines both cultural and sporting activities accessible to young and old alike.

Throughout the month of August, young people attending the leisure centers and the youth service of the City of Epinay-sur-Orge were introduced to singing, learning musical instruments, making games. Although these activities were mainly reserved for children and teenagers, the Estival Island also offered activities for adults.

A variety of activities

Sports activities mixed different well-known and lesser-known sports. Table tennis, football, volleyball, badminton, petanque, mölkky, blind football, archery, handball, basketball, peteca, kubb, frisbee/ultimate, stag shuttlecock, teqball, foot-golf, slackline, rugby and beach tennis are among the sports that young and old have been able to try out.

For the last days of August, the Estival Island has planned initiations to shark roller, handball, badminton and rugby. The cultural offer is not left out either for the last days. A discovery workshop of the little Templar train is on the program. Throughout the summer season, the Îlot estival has made sure to present various cultural activities such as dancing, singing or even the discovery of places little known to the inhabitants.
