Spanish badminton continues to fight in the Senior European Championship to make its mark. The representatives of the #PlanetaSenior have been competing in Slovenia since last Sunday and this Thursday they can bring great joy to the Spanish fans in terms of medals. And it is that Spain can get on the podium in a triple game thanks to Abel Hernández, Miguel Angel Polo and the mixed doubles of Pilar Pinto and Francisco Ruiz. Herrnández and Polo play the semifinals, while Pinto and Ruiz dispute the round of 16.

It should be noted that up to ten national representatives reached the round of 16, but the demand is already maximum in these phases and only Hernández, Polo and the Pinto-Ruiz tandem managed to continue.
Abel Hernández, world medalist in Huelva 2021, beat Danish Morten Aarup and faces Austrian Harald Hochgatterer in the +45 category in the quarterfinals. Also in the individual event, Miguel Ángel Polo beat the German Hans-Jürgen Herbst in the +55 category and faces the Finnish Tarmo Martikainen for a place in the semifinals.
Finally, the duo of Pilar Pinto and Francisco Ruiz face the English Roger Leigh and Susan Tooke for the ticket to the quarterfinals in the +60 category.
