The Methodological Department is consolidated

Since its reopening, on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, the Department, dedicated to the training and recovery of high and medium performance athletes, has established itself based on excellent results at the regional, national and international levels.

The Methodological Department, dependent on the Commodore Sports Autarchic Entity and the General Directorate of Sports, is located in the lower part of Municipal Gymnasium No. 1. It is available for the training and recovery of high and medium performance athletes and works from Monday to Friday in two shifts: from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The work team is made up of: Flavio Benítez (Coordinator), professors Carlos Grünewald, Víctor Maldonado and Juan Manquecheo; María Fernanda Robledo (Nutritionist), Walter Ríos (Kinesiologist), Martín Latorre (Cardiologist), Juan Cruz Yapura (Sports Psychologist) and Diego Corrales (Massage).

In addition, this year the Olympic Weightlifting School was reopened, which is headed by professor Cinthia Cádiz and is intended for boys and girls born between 2005 and 2011. It works Tuesdays and Thursdays (from 3 to 5 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.).

Since the reopening of the Methodological Department in 2019, high-level local athletes have passed and more and more the fruits of effort and joint work are being seen.

Currently, among others, they train: Camila Contreras (Argentine Rugby Seven Team), Valentina Ramos Mercegué (Argentine Aerobic Gymnastics Team), Braulio Mendoza (Argentina U-19 Volleyball Team), Lucio Bergia (Karting), Antonella Smart (Argentine Judo National Team), Santiago Paincho (Motorsports – Track Tourism Class 2), Micael Ruhmling (Taekwon Do ITF), Morena Cervatto and Nahiara Páez (Under 19 Hockey Austral National Team), Jeremías Farías (Judo), Tomás Bustamante ( Mountain Biking), and members of the Handball Future Development Program 2028.
