Fernando Tatís was quick in his statements about the case of his son, Fernando Tatís Jr., star of the MLB and the San Diego Padres.
The rookie shortstop was suspended for 80 games for violating the use of prohibited substances that enhance the athlete’s performance, something that surprised the baseball world.
Tatís Jr. had not made his debut this season due to surgery on his wrist after a motorcycle accident during the winter in the Dominican Republic.
All this came together and criticism has come from different fronts; even some teammates have not had words of encouragement for the Dominican.
His father came to his defense and hopes his son can come back strong. “This really has been a catastrophe and a terrible situation for baseball and for the Tatis Jr. name. This is part of the envy and hypocrisy that is around Junior, even within some of his teammates. This is really sad. Junior’s image is now on the ground,” said Tatís Sr.
“In reality, what has been done is an outrage. It is a very difficult moment,” the former player closed.
