This season, more than a thousand participants from the Baltic countries have accumulated overall points in Ogre, Jēkabpils, Pļaviņas and Riga. At the final stage in Liepāja, a battle for the winners of the 2022 season of the “Courage Run” is expected.
In preparation for the upcoming competition, on Saturday, September 10, at 12 o’clock at the Daugava Stadium, the fighting and fitness club “Ballistic boxing club” will hold a free training session, in which everyone is invited to participate in order to prepare for the race both physically and mentally. “The training will be conducted with elements of martial arts under the leadership of coach Zaura Sadihova,” comments club representative Pēteris Vītols.
Courage race suitable for everyone – both fast and strong obstacle race athletes and those Sunday runners who just want to experience adventure and adrenaline. “The main goal of the competition is to provide positive emotions and a spirit of adventure to the participants,” says Mārtiņš Vēvelis, the organizer of the competition.
“Since we moved the obstacle course from Beberlini to the city, the participants also appreciate the dynamism of the race and the opportunity to receive support from the fans along the entire course.”
This year, the races will start at the “Daugava” stadium, but on the way to the finish, the participants will need to demonstrate strength, agility and speed on a 7-kilometer obstacle course that will wind through the Olympia Stadium, the beach, Jurmala Park and the surrounding area.
Everyone, depending on the length of the distance, will need to overcome at least 30 or 60 constructed obstacles evenly spaced along the course.
The organizers of the competition state that the natural obstacles, combined with the artificial ones, will test the skills of the participants, forcing them to overcome wooden barrier walls, rope nets, barbed wire, car tires, icy water pools, etc.
Various other distance tasks will also make the track more interesting – carrying sandbags and wooden blocks, pulling stones, rolling tractor tires and some other new surprises.
