The Executive Committee of the Beninese Archery Federation organized from July 28 to 30, 2022, on the grounds of the SOS Village of Abomey-Calavi, the 2022 edition of the National Mini Archery Championships, Cadet , junior and senior. At the end of this statutory meeting, the best climbed on the various podiums, to the great satisfaction of President Paul Zinsou.

Nearly a hundred archers from all departments of Benin took part in the 13th National Archery Championships with the individual goal of reaching the podium. On the menu, Recurve bow over 60m and 70m, local bow and PVP events, then standard bow. At the end, only the most deserving had the honor of winning the title of champion and climbing to the top step of the podium. This is the case of Mama Abdoulaye Azizou, gold medalist in the recurve 70m (senior category). According to him, it was experience that militated in his favor. “A joy of pride. I am very happy but I still have to work a lot”, he confided before adding that he will prepare for the Tizocata tournament this year to better defend the national colors as was the case in 2014, 2015 and 2019. In the junior category, Babio Amirath, Edouardine Gbaguidi and Ezéchiel also made it to the podium. On the side of the president of the Federation Paul Zinsou, it is the satisfaction of having succeeded in the bet of the organization. “I’m delighted with the squad you’ve made this year. We intend to exceed 100 archers next year,” said President Paul Zinsou, who invites club officials to redouble their efforts and above all to ensure that this year’s newcomers become next year’s veterans. Note that this edition of the national championships is a qualifier for the International Tournament of West and Central African Zones (Tizocata) hosted by Benin next September.
