It has already been reported that the Basketball Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (KSBH) had previously been in financial difficulties, which could have prevented the participation of several national teams in the European Championships, including the men’s national team’s participation in the final tournament of the European Championship and the participation of the women’s national team in the World Cup, which will be held in Australia.
On Monday, the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided in an extraordinary session in favor of granting funding to KSBH. About 100,000 euros will be allocated to the federation so that adult teams can properly prepare and go to tournaments.
In order to help national basketball teams in different age groups, KSBH also started a crowd funding campaign earlier.
The men’s basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will face France, Lithuania, Slovenia, Germany and Hungary in the subgroup games of the European Championship final tournament. On the other hand, the women’s national team will face Belgium, China, Puerto Rico, South Korea and the USA in their group at the World Cup.
