Tastings, music and food and wine stands: the Montecarlo Wine Festival is underway

All ready for the start of the Montecarlo wine festival 2022. This Thursday (1 September) at 7.30 pm, the mayor Federico Carrara will officially start the dances with the cutting of the ribbon, scheduled as usual in Piazza d’Armi. Following, in the garden of the Pellegrini Carmignani institute, the inaugural concert by the Giacomo Puccini Philharmonic of Montecarlo.

The concert, directed by maestro Gabriele Micheli, will begin around 9.30pmoffering the public a vast repertoire of classical, modern and original music for a band by Giacomo Puccini, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jacob de Haan, Carlos Santana, the Poohs and many others.

They will be right away activate the 2 main points of food and wine administration: Piazza d’Armi, with the classic stalls managed by all the Monte-Carlo associations, and tasting under the stars: a quieter corner in Piazza Garibaldi designed for wine lovers.

Instead, the Salotto del vino e del verde will start this Sunday (4 September). Until Sunday 11, 8 themed dinners featuring excellent products such as Sorana bean, Garfagnana spelled, fish from the Tuscan coast, potatoes and flours from the Lucca and Pistoia mountains. The journalist and food and wine expert Fabrizio Diolaiuti and the actress Vania Della Bidia will host 4 evenings each. Among the guests announced the sports journalist Sandro Sabatini, the actors Andrea Muzzi and Renato Raimo, the famous restaurateur and butcher Dario Cecchini.

Exhibitions and entertainment

At the Rocca del Cerruglio from 2 to 18 September, The art of Dionysus. The works of the artists Flavio Bregoli, Giorgio Carezzi, Mario De Sisto, Laura Martucci, Roberto Pasquinelli, Alessandro Priolo are exhibited.

From 1 to 11 September in the hall of the ex Misericordia, the painting exhibition Artistic introspective by the young painter from Pescia Federica Gaspari.

At the entrance of the Theater of the reassured, from 1 to 11 September, the photographic exhibition Wine and flavors: 30 shots made by amateur photographers with food and wine theme, organized by the photographic group L’ora blu, of Bagni di Lucca.

The exhibition onAncient highwayby the Lucca Historical Institute, headquarters of Montecarlo, Pescia, Valdinievole, on display until 22 October under the loggias of the cloister of the Pellegrini Carmignani Institute.

It will not fail entertainment for young and old, with shows and concerts organized by the pro loco of Montecarlo in one of the gardens located just below the Fortress. The other will be occupied for the entire duration of the party by the Montecarlese historical group, which will also set up a small one field for archery. On Friday 9 September the participants will parade in a historical procession through the streets of the town.

On Thursday 8 September the procession for the feast of the Madonna del Soccorsoprotector of Montecarlo, a highlight of the holiday period.
