Suzuka 8 Hours 2022 Endurance Test Race: Honda wins….Kawasaki-Suzuki stick two-three!!

Iwanbanaran.com – Cakkk…The third round of the FIM Endurance World Championship took place at the Suzuka circuit with an 8-hour race format. Team HRC came out as the winner, followed by Kawasaki Racing Team and Yoshimura SERT Motul (Suzuki).

For the first time, the Suzuka 8 Hours will be held again after the last two years being canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. After the first two rounds which took place in Le Mans, France and Spa, Belgium, the defending champion Suzuki – Yoshimura SERT Motul still leads the standings with 106 points, followed by FCC TSR Honda France with 91 points and YART – Yamaha Austria Racing Team with 76 points.

Suzuka’s third series seems difficult for the Regular team to compete for the victory because the Wildcard team always looks amazing at home. Yupss, this was proven directly from the Free Practice session to the Qualifying where Team HRC and Kawasaki Racing Team really appeared very strong with stars from World Superbike and Local Heroes.

The race started at 11.30 local time, Team HRC started the race from pole position followed by Kawasaki Racing Team and YART – Yamaha. After the start, FCC TSR Honda took the lead with Josh Hook. Followed by Team HRC and Kawasaki Racing Team.

The race has only been running for two laps, an incident occurred between Astemo Honda and SDG Honda who were fighting for first place. Both teams had to immediately take the motorbike to the pits for repairs because the race was still long. Fortunately, both of them were still able to continue the cakk race.

Twenty-four minutes into the race, the Kawasaki Racing Team took over the first position, followed by Yoshimura SERT, Team HRC, FCC TSR Honda and BMW Motorrad who completed the top five. Moments later Team HRC took over the leadership of the race. Not long after, SRC Kawasaki crashed while competing for the top five and Randy De Puniet immediately took his motorbike to the pits for repairs.

The first hour, Team HRC took the lead and had devoured 25 Laps followed by Kawasaki Racing Team, YART Yamaha, Yoshimura SERT and FCC TSR Honda. Meanwhile, Honda Asia Dream, which was filled by one of the Indonesian racers, Gerry Salim, finished the first hour in thirteenth position with Zaqhwan Zaidi.

Two hours of racing lasted, each team had entered the pits to change tires, refuel and also change drivers. Team HRC still leads with former Moto2 rider Tetsuta Nagashima followed by Kawasaki Racing Team which included Jonathan Rea for his second stint after Leon Haslam and Yoshimura SERT completed the top three with local hero Kazuki Watanabe.

Three hours into the race, HRC was unwavering with Iker Lecuona coming on for the third stint. The Kawasaki Racing Team held on to second place with Alex Lowes and Yoshimura SERT also still completing the top three with Gregg Black. Ahead of the first four hours, the Kawasaki Racing Team was lowside with Jonathan Rea. Fortunately, it wasn’t too bad, so Rea was able to immediately go to the pits to have his motorbike repaired by the crew. Meanwhile BMW Motorrad which is fighting for the top five was forced to withdraw early due to experiencing problems with its Motor and beyond repair. Sorry..

Four hours and twenty minutes of the race going on, Team HRC was calm at the front while the second position was now taken over by YART Yamaha and the Kawasaki Racing Team dropped to third place after taking a little longer in the pits until the bike was really healthy.

Five hours of the race, Team HRC is without an opponent and is now 1 lap ahead of the second position. Kawasaki Racing Team returned to second place after overtaking YART – Yamaha. Yoshimura SERT held on to fourth and S-Pulse Dream rounded out the top five.

Six hours of racing, Team HRC has not been shaken. YART Yamaha returned to second place and Kawasaki Racing Team dropped to third. Yoshimura SERT and S-Pulse Dream stayed in the top five. Meanwhile, Honda Asia Dream rose to ninth position. Juoss.

Seven hours of the race lasted, one hour before the finish. Team HRC really performed perfectly and so far they have covered 188 Laps. Kawasaki Racing Team took second place again and YART Yamaha dropped to third. Even the top five haven’t changed.

But just two minutes after the turn of the clock, YART Yamaha was involved in a clash with Akeno Speed ​​when Marvin Fritz wanted to overlap Maiki Abe. YART immediately got up and rushed to the pits and luckily they were still able to continue the race cakkk.

Half an hour before the finish, the top five were occupied by Team HRC, Kawasaki Racing Team, Yoshimura SERT, Toho Racing and S-Pulse Dream. While YART Yamaha dropped to seventh position. The struggle for fourth place was quite interesting between the two Wildcard teams. Battle continues until the race ends.

The finish flag was flying, Team HRC became the winner after completing 214 Laps. Kawasaki Racing Team and Yoshimura SERT Motul locked the podium.

Meanwhile, Honda Asia Dream Racing was brought in which fielded Gerry Salim in the last hour to finish, finishing the race in 11th position with a gap of 6 Laps from Team HRC….(CB iwb)
