Susanne Schubert acquires a judo referee license | online

Trainer Susanne Schubert from the judo department of SC Eschenbach passed an exam for the referee’s license C. Four up-and-coming referees were evaluated at a Bavaria-wide team competition in Peiting. Previously, Schubert had already been observed at several other tournaments in Bavaria, including a nationwide sighting tournament, and was thus selected for the performance squad. In Peiting, the deputy referee referee Bernd Röder assessed the behavior of the candidates on the mat, their appearance and the correctness of the decisions. Through their concentrated effort, all four former D judges achieved license level C, which is the highest in Bavaria. This means that Susanne Schubert can now be used as a referee at tournaments for all age groups throughout Bavaria.

All in all, the judo department is happy about the positive end of the season and hopes for an equally successful continuation after the summer holidays. From the start of school, the judoka train again every Wednesday from 5 p.m. (children and parents) or from 6 p.m. (young people and adults) in the gym of the Markus Gottwalt School.

In addition, 13 children and young people had prepared for a long time and were now rewarded with new belt colors. Throwing techniques and handles as well as falling forwards, backwards and to the side were required. The latter must be trained well from the start so that nobody gets injured in judo. In addition, the learned techniques were applied in Randori, a practice fight. Another part of the exam were the judo values such as respect, self-control, helpfulness and courage. A sign of this philosophical component, which is just as much a part of judo as physical training, is bowing to your partner, for example.

The District Examination Officer Thomas Kraus singled out Leon Frömel and Johanna Seitz as the best in the exam. Overall, however, he certified that everyone had a good technical level, especially with regard to ground techniques. The proud judoka received their certificates to applause. Elias Czogalla, Lennart Griener, Selina Meißner, Annika Müller and Johanna Seitz now wear the white and yellow belt (8th Kyu). Leon Frömel, Luca Gräbner, Nico Kausler, Benedikt Raps, Antonia Reisner, Katharina Schury, Theresa Schury and Tom Teschke received the yellow belt (7th Kyu). The trainers Reinhold and Susanne Schubert as well as Larry Querfurth are proud of their protégés and happy about the successful belt test.
